During my project, I would like to explore the purpose of food in our culture. Is it really just nourishment, like Rhinehart seems to believe, or can this passage help argue that food is used for more than just survival.
Page 14 “Meals provide punctuation…sad”
I feel this passage will help explain another purpose of food in our lives besides nourishment, and the sort of mental and physical break we are able to have. I would also like to contrast this with Rinehart’s, and the college students who are unable to enjoy this break because of the work they want to be doing while they eat.
Pahe 1 “Fruits and vegetables…survive”
I want to use this passage to explain the true purpose of eating: survival. I hope that I am able to tie in some of my favorite dish essay where I talk about having to eat what we was put in front of us because at least it was a meal. I want to explore how perhaps enjoying your food is a privilege and not everyone has the time or money for that.
